After 18 months in the making, Communicorp has launched its iPad-only Newstalk magazine and is hoping for 50,000 downloads.
Aidan McCullen, head of digital at Communicorp says the new app is “Radio you can read” and features non-news features including an interview with actress Charlie Murphy by The Green Room presenter Orla Barry.
“It is a first for Irish radio,” Newstalk station editor Garrett Harte told the Irish Times.
Other features in the first edition include Brian O’Driscoll on leadership, Naomi Linehan on “Who believes in Ireland” and Stephen Daunt talking to Fishamble Literary Manager Gavin Kostick about art.
The 22-page app incorporates audio clips and full screen photos, and was developed in-house by digital team of eight people.
