Community radio presenter joins Today FM

Louise Duffy’s summer replacement for her Monday morning show on Today FM is Danny Cremin from West Limerick 102FM community radio.

Danny was selected from over 150 applicants after the station started a “Kick Starter for the Summer” search.

“I’ve been with West Limerick 102FM for 5 years this year and have enjoyed it from the start its only been in the past 2 years that I’ve actually thought “Hey, I could make a career out of this!”, Danny Said.

“From my time at West Limerick 102 I’ve learned about every aspect of the radio station from the core inner workings of the transmitters to the building of an on-air promo”.

Danny has just finished 5th year and is due to sit the Leaving Cert in the summer of 2014.

He says “I applied for a job in SPIN South West last summer and did a few shows with them but school came knocking again in September so I headed back after a year of TY. During my TY year I visited many stations around the country such as Limerick’s Live 95FM, SPIN 1038 and 98FM to get a taste of the commercial side of radio broadcasting.”

Danny’s first show was on Monday 10th of June at 5am.

He’s on every Monday throughout the summer as Louise Duffy takes over Summer Saturdays.
