A new six part documentary series made by Athena Media with the help of the BAI starts today on RTÉ Radio 1.
Citizens: Lockout 1913-2013 narrates the events that led to the landmark labour versus capital conflict in Dublin in 1913 and explores the leaders on both sides and question the legacy of Lockout 1913 for Ireland today.
The station is holding three live discussions on the Today with Myles Dungan programme about the series, which features key historians and authors such as Mary Daly, Ann Matthews and author Ciaran Wallace and the descendents of the key characters from the period.
The live features will include short segments of the documentary series, which is produced and presented by Helen Shaw. The audio editor is Amy Millar and original music is by Michael Gallen.
