The shareholders of Radio Nova in Dublin are setting up a temporary radio station in Cork, Limerick & Galway going under the name of The Rock.
The name was last used in Ireland in 2008, when 949 The Rock was on-air from Dun Laoghaire in Dublin. The station went on to win a 10-year licence from the BAI and now broadcasts as Radio Nova.
The Rock will now return for a six week period from October 5th playing classic and modern rock, as well as news and lifestyle information
Kevin Branigan, CEO at Radio Nova and spokesperson for The Rock told RadioToday: “We’re very excited about coming on air. We aim to give something new and exciting to Cork, Limerick & Galway over
the six weeks of our licence. Expect to hear plenty of great music from bands such as Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen, Aerosmith, David Bowie, Eric Clapton and much more – it will literally be the best music on the dial”.
