Former Newstalk and Irish Times executive Peter Smyth has been appointed Peter Smyth as commercial director of Independent Radio Sales.
He joins IRS in November as part of an overall strategic plan to realign the company to the new media landscape.
Chief executive David Tighe said: “I am delighted to welcome Peter to IRS.
“Peter will be looking at growing our business from a strategic perspective concentrating on new revenue streams, maximising our digital offering and striving to add extra innovation to the way we do business.”
Peter will start his new position in November, at the company which sells Ireland FM – a package of 20 radio stations all over the country.
