The Rock goes live with temporary licence

The Rock has returned under a temporary licence from the BAI for a six-week run, with the first weekend feedback being “very positive”.
The station launched at midnight on Friday and will broadcast over the next five weekends.

The Rock is being operated by Bay Broadcasting, one of the shareholders in Radio Nova, and is available in Cork, Limerick and Galway.

Presenters on the station include some presenters who featured on The Rock’s previous incarnations – Chris Young, Peter Redmond, Pat James, Brendan Flanagan, Daragh O’ Sullivan and Damien Allen as well as 8 Radio’s Dan McDermott, Enda Caldwell, Niall O’ Keeffe and Rob Hughes.

Kevin Branigan, CEO at Radio Nova and spokesperson for The Rock told RadioToday that the station reports listener response to its first weekend of broadcasts as “very positive”.

The Rock can be received in Cork on 106.7 FM, In Limerick on 105.5 FM, Galway on 89.5 FM, as well as online at therock.ie.
