David Harvey takes another break from 4fm

After just two months back on-air at Classic Hits 4fm, David Harvey is off taking another break from the station.

He’s told RadioToday that he’s enjoyed working with the team there but will now concentrate on other commitments such as his TV work.

Programme Director Andy Matthews is sorry to see him leave, telling RadioToday: “We will miss David and his quirky sense of humour and his sharp wit.”

David said: “I enjoy working with the station and the team and I appreciate the difficult situation I have placed you in but thanks for your understanding.”

Late night talk show host Niall Boylan will take the unusual step of hosting two live phone-in shows a day from Monday, taking over David’s two hour shift. As well as his 9pm till 1am slot, Niall will be on-air from 1pm till 3pm.

Niall tells RadioToday it’s a permanent schedule change.

The rest of the weekday schedule remains the same with Jim McCabe on the Brighter Breakfast, Robbie Fogarty during the morning, Gareth O’Callaghan in the afternoon and Suzanne Kane in the evening.

At weekends, Darragh O’Dea is down from two shows to just one, with former CityBeat presenter Owen Larkin taking over Sundays 2-6pm.
