Ocean FM faces competition for Contract

BAI has received two applications for the sound broadcasting service for Sligo/North Leitrim/South Donegal – currently held by Ocean FM.

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland will announce who the contendor is for the contract once it has had time to review the applications to make sure they are both valid.

Ocean FM started broadcasting in 2004, taking over from North West Radio.

Also today, just one application has been received for a music-driven, regional sound broadcasting service for Waterford City and County, South Tipperary and Counties Wexford, Carlow and Kilkenny. The contract is currently held by Beat 102-103 and will expire on 30th September 2014.

Both contracts were advertised on September 3rd 2013 with a closing date of today, Monday 12th December 2013.
