The Christmas Appeal run by WLR FM and the local Lions Club is hoping to hit the five million Euro mark, as fundraising gets underway for another year.
The Appeal is now in its 25th year and has a target of €165k to reach €5m by December 21st. All monies raised will go to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul and other local charities in Waterford city and county.
“We have a target of €165,000 this year and we would like to thank the people of Waterford for their tremendous support so far. ” said WLR FM’s Michael Byrne.
Station staff are working with Lions Club members in Waterford and Dungarvan at events running in a variety of venues all across the city and county over the next week.
