RTÉ 2fm’s Nicky Byrne is taking part in the UNICEF fundraiser Soccer Aid at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday June 8.
The event will be shown live on ITV in the UK with a line-up that includes James McAvoy, Gordon Ramsay, Patrick Kielty and Adam Richman. Also playing in Michael Sheen’s Rest of the World line-up is former players Edwin van der Sar and Jaap Stam.
They will compete against Robbie Williams’ England team, which also features: Olly Murs, John Bishop, Jonathan Wilkes, Mark Owen, Jack Whitehall, Stephen Moyer, Matt Smith, Paddy McGuinness, Ben Shephard, Bradley Walsh, Jamie Theakston and former players Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher, Paul Ince, David Seaman and Teddy Sheringham.
Nicky is part of the revamped 2fm line-up and now hosts the midday show with Jenny Greene each weekday 11am till 2pm
