Radio Nova goes on-air from the Air Show

Radio Nova is to broadcast this year’s Bray Air Display live on-air as official Media Partner for the Air Display for the second year.

The Air Show, which is Ireland’s largest free air show, will take place this coming Sunday afternoon, July 20th, with an expected attendance of almost 100,000. The display is run annually as part of the Bray Summerfest celebrations.

Nova will broadcast from the temporary control tower in Bray, from which all air traffic will be controlled for the duration of the Air Show. It’s the second successive year that the Dublin-based station is the media sponsor for the event, which is viewed annually by the crowd attending in Bray and by tens of thousands of people at locations around Dublin Bay. In addition, the soundtrack to the day’s events has been chosen by Nova listeners, who’ve voted for songs based on an aviation theme to accompany the show on the day.

“It’s our second year to broadcast the Air Display live and we’re going to broadcast even more of it this year, with live audio from the Control Tower and the pilots as they communicate on their approach to Bray”, says Nova’s Kevin Branigan.

“It’s a really exciting event with mass interest and our live broadcasting of the show, coupled by our listeners’ involvement in the soundtrack, is the ultimate way to prove the power of radio in a live event situation. People not only in Bray but throughout the Dublin Bay area will be able to listen to an aural accompaniment while they watch the skies from various vantage points”, he said.
