RTÉ lyric fm is working on a collaborative digital exhibition, 20 / Twenty, with the National Self-Portrait Collection of Ireland.
On Culture Night this Friday, twenty artworks from the National Self-Portrait Collection of Ireland will go on digital display in the RTÉ lyric fm windows on Robert Street, Limerick. Each of the 20 artists involved in this collaboration was asked to select a piece of music and write a short text about how music forms a part of their daily practice of making art.
These artists are relative newcomers to the National Self-Portrait Collection of Ireland and their works are wide-ranging in medium, style and scale, giving an oversight of contemporary artistic practice in Ireland.
The music chosen by each artist ranges from classical to contemporary and hopefully will open new windows of exploration for the listener and viewer.
