Radio NOVA is inviting bands to perform acoustic versions of well-known carols and Christmas songs on Morning Glory this week.
Bands involved include The 4 of Us, The Devlins, Cry Before Dawn, Sal Vitro, Delorentos, The Shoos, The Hot Sprokets, Darling and many more are singing well-known tunes such as Jingle Bells, Rockin’ Around the Xmas Tree, Fairytale of New York, The Winter Song, Merry Christmas (I don’t want to fight tonight), I Believe in Father Christmas and many more.
The station features many Irish acts on its playlist already, giving almost 400 new Irish bands airtime on its “Locals Only” show since its launch in September 2010.
“We love both Christmas and Irish music here at NOVA and inviting these bands to sing their own favourite festive number live on air is the perfect way to roll into Christmas”, said NOVA’s Programming Director & CEO, Kevin Branigan.
The bands can be heard every morning on ‘Morning Glory with Dee & Marty’ after 9am between now and Xmas.
