RTÉ Radio 1’s Liveline seeks new sponsor

RTÉ Radio 1’s is now seeking a new sponsor for their daily phone-in show Liveline, presented by Joe Duffy.

The show has won PPI radio awards for Best Interactive Speech Programme in 2013 and 2014 and currently has 382,000 listeners, according to recent JNLR figures – making it the 2nd most listened to programme on Irish radio, after Morning Ireland – also on Radio 1.

The state broadcaster has made it available for sponsorship at rates of €120,000 for 3 months, €200,000 for 6 months or €350,000 for a full 12 months.

For this fee, the sponsor will get six 10-second stings per show, a sting at the beginning of every Liveline podcast, promos in ad breaks during other programmes and a presence on the Liveline web page – as well as the availability of ‘sampling’ at the show’s “Funny Friday” outside broadcasts.

Recent sponsors have included Lyons Tea, Nissan and Specsavers Opticians.

Commenting on their Lyons Tea Liveline sponsorship Rachel Ray, Research & Consumer Insights Manager, Mindshare said: “We saw a significant increase across all our KPI’s for this sponsorship. This included unprompted & prompted awareness of the relationship, a positive jump in top of mind and share of voice. I could see that regular listeners to Liveline are a loyal listener group who trust Joe Duffy. Therefore the Radio 1 listeners showed greater positivity & acceptability towards a brand than average.”
