iRadio to reward non-speeding drivers with cash

iRadio has this week re-introduced its road safety campaign ‘i Is The Limit’, giving away free cash to safe drivers.

The station will be out in its Opel Adam cars checking the speed limit of motorists across the 15 counties it broadcasts to, then reading out the registration plates of those traveling at or under the speed limit.

During live links back to the studio through the day, the iTeam will reveal the details of the cars they’ve zapped. The driver of the vehicle will then have 60 minutes to find somewhere safe to stop and call the station to confirm their identity. Once they do, they’re €100 richer.

iRadio has won Leading Lights and PPI Radio Awards during previous executions, and has now teamed up with CoverInAClick.ie and InsureMyVan.ie to roll out the mechanic for 2015.

Mr Jonathan Hehir of CoverInAClick.ie and InsureMyVan.ie: “At Cover In A Click and Insure My Van, we love safe drivers – so when the opportunity arose to be associated with rewarding them for being responsible, we were extremely excited to get involved. We genuinely believe this initiative could help save lives.”
