WLR FM puts on first Big Rugby Breakfast

The first WLRFM Big Rugby Breakfast took place at the Tower Hotel Waterford on Wednesday April 28th.

Nearly 200 guests attended the breakfast with former Munster and Ireland Out half Ronan O Gara as special guest. Paul Nolan was MC for the Q & A session with Ronan which covered all aspects of his rugby career past and present, including some well-constructed questions from the audience on the morning.

Liam Dunne, Commercial Director of WLR FM told RadioToday: “We are delighted to be in a position to thank our advertisers, our clients and our supporters this morning. Just like Rugby it’s the supporters that make it all possible and make the game worth playing. We in WLR FM are no different to the sport.

“It was great to have a real sporting hero and the turnout of clients confirmed that Ronan is a real box office attraction.”

The charity partner benefiting from the generous donation at the breakfast was South East Simon Community. Total monies raised on the morning was €2,154 with all proceeds going directly to South East Simon.
