Keith Ward takes over FM104’s “The Open Mic”

Keith Ward, producer and co-presenter on the FM104 Phone Show with Chris Barry, is to take over the Sunday night chat and live music programme “The Open Mic”.

Ward, who also describes himself as an actor and “lover of creative marketing” in his twitter bio, worked at 98FM with Dermot and Dave before making the move to FM104. While with the Communicorp group, he was also a producer of speech output and worked on Spin 1038’s talk show Spin Talk.

The move follows the departure from FM104 of former presenter and newsreader Ruairi Carroll, who left the UTV owned station for a role in the news department of independent TV station TV3, which was purchased this week by cable TV and broadband company UPC for €80m.

Ward, who has been in Portugal on holidays from his usual role on the FM104 Phone Show this past week, says he’ll be starting the new presenting role “very soon”, but “not this Sunday”.
