Former RTÉ Digital Radio presenter Scott de Buitléir is making his presenting début with national commercial station Newstalk this weekend.
This Saturday, from 7 to 9pm, the ex-RTÉ Pulse host will present Global Village – the station’s discussion programme which takes a look at social issues and is normally fronted by Dil Wickremasinghe – who is currently on maternity leave.
De Buitléir quit his unpaid position with RTÉ in May, claiming that management had put undue pressure on him to provide balance on his music and talk based LGBT programme “The Cosmo” ahead of the same-sex marriage referendum.
Looking forward to his first broadcast with the Communicorp owned station, Scott took to twitter yesterday:
