Classic Hits 4FM are counting down the Top 50 Classic Love songs off all time on bank holiday Monday October 26th from 2 to 7 pm.
The “Love Doctor” himself, Gareth O’Callaghan will be prescribing passion on the day and the station say that listeners have been getting in touch in their thousands already, voting for their favorite “smoochie tunes”.
The Classic Hits Top 50 Classic Love Songs Countdown is sponsored by new movie Brooklyn, starring Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, which hits cinemas on November 26th.
Speaking about the countdown, Gareth O’Callaghan said: “This is the highlight of my year, I can’t wait until it all kicks off on Monday afternoon at 2! Everyone in the office has been asking me what the number one is but my lips are sealed! I will say though;- that it is a real gem! – but then again, we have 49 other classics to play before we hit the number one at about 7pm”.
The order of the songs in the countdown may change yet though, as listeners can still vote until 12 midnight on Oct 25th by texting the word “Love”, their name and song to 53544 (for 20c), with every vote entered into a draw for a romantic weekend for two in a top relaxing location in Ireland.
