Irish music radio airplay charts launched

Yangaroo Music Ireland has partnered with RadioMonitor to roll out new Irish music airplay charts.

Along with delivering and hosting music releases from September 2016, Yangaroo Music Ireland has this week committed to providing a number of different charts to highlight the performance of Irish music for Irish media on various platforms – airplay , streaming and discovery.

The first charts, now live on YangarooMusic.ie for registered media to access, sees them partnering with RadioMonitor the airplay monitoring service to present two new music chart of Irish artists entering, rising and performing well in the radio airplay charts. Breaking Irish Music Chart will discover new artists and Current Irish Music Chart will highlight the more established or well performing Irish artists – providing a filter on how well new and established Irish artists are performing.

Radio monitor’s General Manager, Feidhlim Byrne says: “Any way we can help identify what new releases are doing well, to help both the Irish music and radio industry, is a no-brainer for us. We are thrilled to work with Yangaroo and IASCA”.

Yangaroo Music CEO Sinead Troy added: “Working together creates better results for all – in a busy media environment, our aim is to save them time while highlighting Irish music more. If everyone can access information in one place, that’s will become the go to place. RadioMonitor are our first chart partner on Yangaroo, and we are in discussions with a streaming platform for our next partner.”

Yangaroo Music says all national, multi-city, regional and local independent radio stations are registered along with the majority of national press and music bloggers. Owned by IASCA and created as a solution to a problem for both Irish music and Irish media, the support started with President Higgins, who recorded a speech about Irish music and creativity which was the very first piece of audio digitally delivered by Yangaroo to Irish media. Along with that speech, releases from Van Morrison, Cathy Davey, James Vincent McMorrow, Pleasure Beach and Twin Atlantic are all now available to stream and download.

Yangaroo Music Ireland will also digitally deliver Lisa Hannigan’s new album ‘At Swim’ today.
