RadioToday can confirm former Red FM and Today FM presenter Keith Cunningham is joining Cork’s 96FM to host the breakfast show.
A source close to the station tells us the move was confirmed to staff at a 96FM station meeting this morning, but KC will stay on gardening leave from Red FM for the immediate future.
His next move has been the topic of conversation around the industry since he left Red FM suddenly last week.
RadioToday reported on Thursday that KC had left Red FM without being able to say goodbye to listeners, but he confirmed the news on social media.
When he joins, he’ll replace Nick Richards who has been on the morning show for 15 years in Cork, who will, according to our source, be staying on the schedule.
Neither KC or Cork’s 96FM were available to comment at the time of reporting.
