Autumn schedule tweak for Classic Hits 4FM

Classic Hits 4FM is extending its afternoon drive show by an hour, while Damian Farrelly cuts his on air hours by one a day.

From Monday September 4th, Damien will finish earlier – at 12noon. Niall Boylan moves an hour earlier to do 12-2pm instead of 1-3pm, with Gareth O’Callaghan extending his slot by an hour to host 2-7pm weekdays. His CSi (Classic Song Investigation) feature remains at 6pm each evening.

Programme Director Andy Matthews tells RadioToday.ie: “We’ve been considering these moves for a while now based on audience availability and the competitive set. We are really happy with the moves and we’re looking forward to even more success and continued growth in listenership in these dayparts.”

Gareth O’Callaghan tells us: “I’m delighted to have been asked to do more, I live for being on air on a daily basis and I’m really looking forward to the extended shift.”

A new feature to his show from next month will be the Classic 3@3 – three Classic songs from one artist, selected by listeners each day.
