Classic Hits 4FM Programme Director Andy Matthews has said that he will continue to keep Cliff Richard on the playlist after recent events.
The Dublin-based station says it has had a number of listeners contact them wanting songs by Sir Cliff Richard OBE pulled, after police searched his house last week.
Andy told RadioToday: “We pride ourselves on playing the biggest Classic Hits of all time. Cliff Richard is included in that list and we will continue playing his songs until due process has been concluded.
“I am aware that some radio stations have removed his songs from their playlists which I disagree with, as I believe everyone is innocent until proven guilty”.
RadioToday has also received information from a number of stations which have removed a small-amount of Cliff Richard songs from upcoming programmes, but have not banned him from their playlists.
