RTÉ 2fm has teamed up with Operation Transformation for a new Saturday morning show “Op Tran on 2fm with Nicky Byrne”, which starts this Saturday, January 10th and continues for seven weeks.
The show, presented by fitness fan, ex-footballer and Westlife member Nicky Byrne, will join forces with the nationwide Operation Transformation campaign, tapping into the weekly events and activities taking place around the country, in order to get Ireland healthier and fitter in 2015.
RTÉ 2fm say that Nicky will be encouraging listeners to ‘get up & get out’ this January, and make this the year they finally change habits and lose weight.
Byrne says: “We’re giving listeners the opportunity to sign up to this year’s Operation Transformation 5K Challenge; you can follow the fitness plan and tune in to 2fm on Saturday mornings, 9-11am, for even more motivation and support. We’ll provide the soundtrack for you whether you want to walk, jog or run your way into 2015.”
In this Saturday’s first of the seven weekly shows, pharmacies around the country will invite people to be weighed in-store and discover if they are in the healthy, overweight or obese range.
Then, across the following weeks, fitness experts will provide their advice and tips, and the show will check in with listeners who are following the fitness plan, culminating in the final show on February 21st, when Nicky will be cheering on the listeners in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and Blarney Castle as he joins the thousands who finally complete the 5K challenge.
RTÉ 2FM say that the show will also be bringing listeners the best tunes to motivate them to walk, run, jog, dance and will create a hit list for their fitness plans.
