John Keane will host WLR’s new weekday lunchtime programme, Live Lunch, from 12 noon to 3pm.
The Monday to Friday show will feature music, local interviews, competitions and contributions from people across Waterford city and county.
A daily feature called Keane on the County will see John travel around Waterford to meet residents, visit communities and gather stories for the programme.
“I’m particularly looking forward to Keane on the County. Waterford is full of great people and great stories, and we want to get out there and bring those voices onto the radio,” John said.
The final hour of Live Lunch will be called the Retro Rewind Hour, with music from the 80s through to the 00s. Listeners will be able to request songs connected to their own memories.
WLR chief executive Michael Byrne said the programme would combine music with local content, interviews and competitions.
