Galway Bay FM has appointed Julie White to oversee its commercial strategy across radio, digital, online and social platforms.
Julie will lead the station’s local commercial operations and sales team, with responsibility for developing new revenue opportunities and strengthening relationships with local businesses, agencies and third party sales partners.
The appointment follows Bay Broadcasting’s acquisition of Galway Bay FM earlier this year. The station now sits within the same Irish owned radio group as Radio Nova, Classic Hits Radio and Sunshine 106.8.
Julie joins after more than nine years with Live95, where she worked as Sales and Marketing Manager. The station reported that team revenue increased by 20% over three years, while digital revenue rose by 82% during her time in the role.
She previously spent almost ten years with SPIN South West, joining as Sales Manager before its launch in 2007 and becoming Station Manager in 2013. Her radio sales career began with Live95 in 2005.
Julie said: “The way audiences consume media continues to evolve and that creates significant opportunities for radio stations and their commercial partners.”
She added that her focus would be on building upon the station’s existing strengths while developing its commercial strategy across radio, digital and social platforms.
Galway Bay FM CEO Cormac O’Halloran said: “Julie brings a long history of commercial success in Sales and Marketing in the radio sector to Galway Bay FM and complements our existing Team extremely well.”
