The first session taking place at JockFest has been announced, with Programme Directors Robin Banks, Chris Buckley and David Lloyd leading the panel.
Former GMG Radio Deputy Group PD Mark Matthews will chair the event, taking place at Alton Towers in England over the weekend of May 18th and 19th.
The event is open to all radio presenters, producers and programmers working in radio in the UK and Ireland.
Robin Banks is the new Programme Director of Star in the North East and the man behind relaunching it with 10 Formats In 10 Days.
Chris Buckley is Senior PC at UTV based at Signal, and has been part of commercial radio for over 30 years. Starting his career at Piccadilly Radio in Manchester and going on to manage at Chrysalis, Tindle Radio, and UTV.
David Lloyd is Director of Programming at Orion Media, controlling the output of Free Radio. He started in radio at Radio Trent, helped set up Lincs FM, was MD of Century 106, Galaxy 105, LBC and more. He was also Programme Controller at Virgin Radio for a while.
Mark Matthews will chair the session. He’s a former programmer at Bauer, UKRD and GMG Radio. He launched Red Rose Rock FM and went on to programme Kiss 100 whilst at Emap.
The event is being organised by Radio Today. Founder and Managing Editor Roy Martin and he is looking forward to the weekend: “There’s never been a conference and social event for radio presenters and producers to get together, to catch up, learn new things and drink beer all at the same time.
“We’re hoping JockFest will be an annual part of the radio calendar and looking forward to seeing lots of presenters, producers and programmers from all over the UK and Ireland there.”
