TXFM to broadcast from Longitude Festival

TXFM has secured a deal to be the official music radio station of Longitude 2014, taking place this weekend.

Acts including Massive Attack, Haim and Disclosure will perform, and Irish DJs Kelly-Anne Byrne, Derek Byrne and Nialler 9 will be among the names taking to the decks in the bespoke TXFM area.

The station will broadcast live from the event on Friday 3pm till midnight, plus Saturday and Sunday from 1pm till 7pm. Presenters including Cathal Funge, Claire Beck, Nadine O’Regan, Dee Reddy and Joe Donnelly will be covering the festival on-air interviewing Bombay Bicycle Club, George Ezra, Bastille and more.

John Caddell, TXFM station manager, said: “We’re thrilled that TXFM is the official music station of Longitude 2014. TXFM has a simple formula for our listeners – we play brilliant music and we bring you the best new music first. With some of our favourite artists including Haim, Ben Howard, Hozier, Le Galaxie and Chvrches playing the festival, Longitude and TXFM are a match made in heaven.

“We’re looking forward to a great weekend of brilliant music – both from the artists on stage and from TXFM on its own bespoke stage.”

The station, which replaced Phantom 105.2 earlier this year, recently held its official launch party at the Chocolate Factory.
