Brian Maher replaces Dara Quilty on 98FM’s Big Ride Home

98FM has announced that Brian Maher is the new presenter of the station’s drive time show replacing Dara Quilty.

Brian has been presenting 98FM’s weekday evening show The Fix over the past four years. He has also been the main cover presenter for The Big Ride Home and a regular contributor on the show with Dara whose radio careers go back years to when they used to co-present The Zoo Crew on SPIN 1038.

Dara is leaving the station and comments: “I have absolutely loved creating The Big Ride Home on 98FM. It’s been an absolute joy presenting the show and it has allowed me to achieve a level of success in the industry that I could only have dreamt of when I started at SPIN1038 at the age of 19.

“Five years is a great run and I have to take this risk and follow something new that has come up for me. Brian will be brilliant and continue to entertain all our Big Ride Home listeners”.

Speaking on his appointment to the role, Brian commented: “It’s bittersweet for me as, on the one hand my best mate is leaving. I enjoy going to work early just to hang out with Dara. On the other hand, I am really excited to take over The Big Ride Home. It’s the show I’ve always wanted to present. I can’t wait to get started on Monday 2nd September”.

In addition, Ciaran O’Connor is taking over the evening show, known as The Fix.
