Anyone interested in securing a sound broadcasting licence on FM should get in touch with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland by March 25th.
Submitted forms, which are available for download from the BAI website, are not regarded as applications but let the Authority known if current contract owners expect to face competition.
11 contracts are due to expire between January and September next year, including Red FM, SPin 1038, Ocean FM and Kfm.
All contract holders operate one radio station with the exception of County Media Limited which operates two services under one contract – C103 and Cork’s 96FM.
Interested parties should submit their expressions of interest in PDF format to the BAI, will be made available publicly following consideration.
Radio Today sources say at least one of the two contracts up for grabs in Dublin will face some stiff competition.
