CRAOL announce first ever National Community Radio Day

The first ever National Community Radio Day will take place this year, on the 19th June 2015, according to Community Radio forum, CRAOL.

The organisation (whose name is the Irish word for ‘broadcast’) announced that the special day will give stations, communities, volunteers and the general public an opportunity to celebrate the Irish Community Radio movement.

Coordinated by CRAOL, all across Ireland, Community Radio Stations will schedule events and activities to make June 19th a truly national celebration of Community Radio.

Events planned include Station Open Days, Outside Broadcasts, Celebratory programming, Live performances on air, Free Workshops, Station Parties and Co-broadcasts & station “simulcast” link ups.

CRAOL say they’re currently contacting stations across the country to find out what they’re organising for the special day and they will be posting updates on twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #NationalCRDay.
