Bobby Kerr is stepping down from his Late Breakfast show each Sunday on Newstalk, but has signed a new two year contract to continue on Saturdays.
The Down to Business programme will continue to be hosted by Bobby each Saturday from 10am -12noon, and he will carry on appearing as a regular voice on the Newstalk schedule.
Managing Editor of Newstalk Patricia Monahan said: “We are disappointed that we’ll have less of Bobby on air over the weekend, but delighted that he will continue to host Down to Business on Newstalk. It is a key programme in our weekend schedule and is a hugely popular with business and wider audience. Bobby’s Late Breakfast has been a great success for the station.”
Commenting on the announcement, Bobby Kerr said: “I am excited to continue with Down to Business on Newstalk and have some great plans lined up for 2019 including the launch of Your Town Your Main Street in March.
“I have loved my time on Bobby’s Late Breakfast, but given my expanding range of business interests and board commitments – for DIT’s Foundation and the Cliffs of Moher Centre amongst others – I have decided to reprioritise. It has been great to wake up the country on Sunday mornings, but I won’t lie, a Saturday night out and a Sunday morning lie in beckons.”
Bobby’s Late Breakfast will continue until March and Newstalk will announce a new weekend schedule in due course.
