RTÉ Radio’s Commercial Director Antony Whittall is leaving the radio business to head up RTE’s commercial television operations, RadioToday can reveal.
He’s just been appointed Commercial Head, TV Operations after ten years managing radio. Antony previously managed the Commercial Division of eircom’s carrier services and held senior commercial roles in the UK.
There’s no news of a replacement just yet but we’ll bring you details as soon as they are announced.
Antony said: “I’m delighted to take on the new role of Commercial Head, TV Operations. Developing the commercial arm of RTÉ TV’s studio and production facilities is a key strategic priority for the organisation, one which utilises RTÉ’s tremendous capabilities to develop a new revenue stream for the organisation.
“With a highly-skilled and motivated team, we will deliver a strong competitive offering to our customers, both here and abroad, to ensure RTÉ becomes a serious international player in this most dynamic and competitive of industries.”
