Tourism Ireland launches Shamrock Radio

Tourism Ireland has partnered with the Australian Radio Network to launch a radio station playing non-stop Irish tunes for one day only.

Shamrock Radio will only be available on the iHeartRadio digital music service, on St Patrick’s Day.

ARN’s Chief Operating Officer & Head of iHeartRadio Geraint Davies said, “This is an exciting addition to our already successful stable of brand partnerships via custom built radio stations.

“iHeartRadio’s ability to successfully build custom stations for our clients plays a huge role in not only creating meaningful and lasting relationships with the brands we collaborate with, but also goes a long way in setting us apart from other digital music services.”

Launched in Australia in late 2013, iHeartRadio is the digital music service that combines custom music and live radio, covering 1000 live radio stations across all ARN, New Zealand’s TRN and Clear Channel’s US stations.

As well as being able to listen to terrestrial radio stations across the US, Australia and New Zealand, iHeartRadio gives listeners the ability to create their own radio stations to suit their listening habits, and offers brands the opportunity to create custom stations for their customers.

“Custom radio stations are clearly driving deep engagement with the brand,” says Geraint.

“Our recent station for Durex, love songs linked to their new Embrace range, had 2065 hours of listening per person in just four weeks, and our Hoyts custom station that plays music from your favourite movies, attracted over 10,000 people per month.”

“It’s an exciting period of growth for ARN, iHeartRadio, and our valued clients.”
