Schedule changes at Classic Hits include a new Saturday show for PJ & Jim, plus the return of Dusty Rhodes.
Andy Matthews – Classic Hits Programme Director told RadioToday: “At Classic Hits we like to keep things fresh and exposing our award winning duo Pj+Jim to a Saturday audience has been on the cards for some time, CSi is one of our most popular features so it is a natural fit.
“Dusty is an iconic radio name and I’m personally delighted to have him on air with us in Classic Hits back doing what he does the best, the 90s.”
Dusty tells us about his new 90s show: “The 90s was a colossal decade for Ireland. We were in the European and World Cups, we dominated music from Eurovision to U2, and the economy was booming. The music was awesome too with Britpop, boy bands and dance tunes that have become all-time classic hits.
“I’m really looking forward to bringing those good times back with the anthems you’d expect and some lost classics that will remind you of places and people that will make you smile.”
Dusty started his radio life on the pirates when he was 13 – with his first big job being on Sunshine 101. He then worked at Atlantic 252 for five years before getting the call from 2FM. His new show starts on January 20th, with PJ & Jim on the 19th.
