Music radio presenter bootcamp launched

Learning Waves Skillnet has launched a free music radio presenter bootcamp programme aimed at finding the next group of music presenters for the independent radio sector in Ireland.

The programme will provide successful participants with a three week programme delivered by industry experts alongside Learning Waves Skillnet trainers. On completion of the programme, participants will have the opportunity to broadcast for one hour live on FRQ FM in Dublin.

This partnership between Learning Waves Skillnet and FRQ FM will allow them the opportunity to experience live broadcasting via the online station, and on successful completion of the programme participants will be placed on work experience in one of the independent commercial radio stations in Ireland.

The programme will cover a host of topics including the following:

• Music Programme Planning
• The Irish Radio Landscape
• Writing for Radio
• Music Policies
• Microphone Techniques
• Operating a Studio Desk
• Researching, Producing and Presenting a Music Show
• Voice Training
• Legal training

The course will take place from 20th July 2015 to 7th August 2015 in Dublin and live broadcasts will take place from 7th August to 7th September. Places on the programme are limited to 20.
