No competition for four community stations

Tipperary Mid-West Radio, Raidió Corca Baiscinn, Community Radio Youghal and Life FM all face no competition for their community radio contracts.

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland announced the receipt of applications for three community radio services, serving the areas of South West Tipperary, South West Clare and Youghal and its Environs, and one community of interest radio service serving the community of Cork City. The four services were advertised by the BAI last May, and each one only attracted the current operators.

The BAI will now review the applications to ensure that all the information requested in the Guide to Submissions has been received and that the applications are valid. On completion of this review, the applications will be made publicly available.
