Sunshine 106.8 has launched its own Alexa skill allowing direct access to the radio station for users of the Amazon devices.
Listeners can enable the skill using the Alexa app for iOS or Android, or simply by saying “Alexa, enable Sunshine 106.8.” Once enabled, listeners using just their voice, can say “Alexa, play Sunshine 106.8”
The Sunshine 106.8 Alexa Skill has been available since the end of January via the Sunshine website and the station says it has had very positive feedback from listeners so far.
Sean Ashmore, CEO of Sunshine 106.8 told RadioToday: “We want to have the station available on as many platforms as possible, and the launch of our own Alexa skill is another extension for the Sunshine service in addition to our existing FM, Online, Mobile Apps, Irish Radio Player, Virgin Media, TuneIn options.”
Irish Radio Player, containing all the IBI and RTÉ radio stations in Ireland, is also on the platform, whilst all of Wireless Group’s station also have their own individual skill.
