The team at Live 95FM have been in touch to showcase what they got up to in 2012, and to wish everyone all the best for 2012.
“Willie Lyons drove away at the start of 2012 in a brand new Renault Clio in the “Live in it 2 win it” competition. We were there when local Limerick rugby legend Paul O’Connell was given Freedom of the City and 95 Lucky listeners each picked up a prize in the “Grab What’s In The Bag” competition at the Crescent shopping centre. The Live 95FM team enjoyed taking part in the St Patricks Day parade, Riverfest, the Great Limerick Run and Live 95FM’s Suzanne O’Brien was crowned the Limerick Rose.
Over the summer we gave away over €20,000 in cash to our listeners and provided coverage of the Limerick Show and many other festivals and events. September saw the Live 95FM team heading to the Westfest Festival, Pig N Porter Festival, the Cappamore show and leading the Limerick Pride Parade 2012.
In September Live 95FM set out around the city and county on its annual fundraiser the “95 Stop Tour for Limerick Kids” during which time we raised over €70,000 for two Limerick organisations, CARI and the Children’s Ark Unit.
Live 95FM also sponsored Limerick’s ‘Going for Gold’ challenge in association with Limerick City Council and the JP McManus Charitable Foundation, which saw Janesboro picking up first prize and sharing in the €50,000 prize fund. With thanks to Hotel Doolin we gave away a wedding in November to lucky couple Alan and Miriam in the “95 Seconds of Fame” competition.
Just before Christmas one lucky listener won a chance to go on tour with Rihanna and the Live 95FM Shadows were seen out and about at Limerick on Ice, Thomond Park, Limerick Racecourse and providing coverage of the 3 Limerick Pantomines.
