Training course planned for News Editors

Learning Waves Skillnet has partnered with the BBC Academy to design and deliver a two day Effective News Editor training programme.

The training, to be held in Dublin on May 8th and 9th, will be delivered by BBC trainers Sue Ellis and Andrew Wilson.

Topics on the agenda include:

  • Defining your editorial vision, communicating effectively with your team and setting goals to motivate them
  • Defining your editorial values – using real scenarios, we help you to develop clear editorial decision-making
  • How to encourage original thinking in story-telling and ensure your journalism has a greater impact
  • Developing an effective leadership style, including managing difficult situations and getting your message across

The course will be limited to 12 participants, available only to News Editors or Deputy News Editors.
