Cosmo goes international with new Podcast

The Cosmo on RTÉ Pulse has teamed up with Gay Star News to launch a new podcast for audiences in the UK, Ireland and beyond.

The show, hosted by Scott De Buitléir (pictured), goes out each Wednesday between 10pm and 11pm but is looking at a more international audience.

The new podcast will feature LGBT news, interviews and discussion from the UK, Ireland and abroad.

It will also be presented by Scott De Buitléir with regular updates from Gay Star News reporters, recorded from the RTÉ studios in Dublin each Friday.

Scott said: “I am absolutely thrilled that RTÉ and Gay Star News are joining forces to provide LGBT news and interviews to our collective audiences, from London to Limerick and from Dublin to Dover. Fans of Gay Star News will now be able to get an extra insight into the stories covered by the award-winning website, produced with an international perspective from our studios in Dublin. This is a fantastic new platform for the LGBT community, and those interested in LGBT issues.”

The Cosmo’s podcast in association with Gay Star News will be launched on Friday, 28 February on Gay Star News, as well as being available via iTunes and the RTÉ Radio Player app, available for Apple and Android.

Speaking on behalf of Gay Star News, Anthony Fortune said: “It’s a pleasure to be working with Ireland’s longest-running radio show for the LGBT community. With our global LGBTI coverage 24-7, we’ll provide thought-provoking content to get RTÉ’s listeners involved. Thanks to our current media partnerships with Dublin Pride and Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, we have a strong presence in Ireland already, so we’re really excited to develop a working relationship with RTÉ in 2014 and beyond.”
