Martin Maguire appointed PD at Today FM

Today FM producer Martin Maguire has been appointed as Programme Director at Today FM, replacing Liam Thompson who will soon make the move to Bauer in London.

The Communicorp station has also made Colm O’Sullivan Assistant PD.

Martin has worked in Today FM for the best part of 13 years. He has been a producer on two of the station’s flagship programmes – The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show and The Ray D’Arcy Show, as well as working with most presenters/shows on Today FM.

Colm joined Today FM from Cork’s Red FM in February last year. While at Red for 9 years, he filled the roles of Production Director, Music Director and ultimately as PD of the station and a member of the senior management team, as Assistant CEO. As well as being responsible for scheduling, music programming and feature development, Colm has also worked on station imaging, cross-promotion and on-air coaching, working with bodies such as Learning Waves.

CEO of Today FM, Peter McPartlin told RadioToday.ie: “Given the current flux within the radio market, I believe that now is a great time to create an even stronger connection between Today FM and our listeners. I know that that Martin and Colm’s appointments will help bring the station on to the next level of its development through a new approach to our output and talent base.”
