Radio Rod launched in Cork ahead of Rod Stewart concert

Rod Stewart, who is playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh on May 25th, is getting his own online radio service from the people behind C103.

The station, which covers Cork County and City, has today (Friday 19th April) launched Radio Rod on its digital platforms.

Radio Rod will play only songs from Rod Stewart 24 hours a day until the end of May. It will be available via the C103 website and also on the radio station’s smartphone Apps.

Brendan O’Driscoll, Content Controller for C103 and its sister station, Cork’s 96FM said “Rod kicks off a great summer of live music in Cork on May 25 th . He’s an artist who has stood the test of time and is a great fit for C103. So we decided it was only right to give him his own station!

“Radio Rod is part of our ongoing drive to innovate and to provide the best service for the people of Cork.”

The singer has even recorded some jingles which are being used as part of the station sound.
