RTÉ 2fm teams up with Music Cork for the Rising list

Music Cork is working with RTÉ 2fm in a new partnership for the Rising with SEAT 2019.

2FM will curate the opening night show at Cyprus Avenue in Cork on Wednesday 1st May drawing from the 2FM Rising list, which champions 12 new and upcoming Irish acts to watch in 2019. Performing at Cyprus Avenue on the night will be Flynn, Pillow Queens and Mango x Mathman.

2FM presenter Tracy Clifford will MC the Cyprus Avenue show and will also DJ at the aftershow party. On the same day, Tracy will also broadcast live from the 2FM Roadcaster in Cork City and on Thursday 2nd May, 2FM will be live from the daytime conference at The Clayton Hotel.

Jim Lawless, one of the organisers of Music Cork says, “One of the key goals of Music Cork is to connect the best new Irish acts with the premier music industry figures who come from the UK, Europe and US to be with us for these three days in Cork. Partnering with 2FM Rising to bring their pick of the best emerging talent in Ireland is an obvious way to help achieve that. It provides a platform for these artists to showcase, and we know that we are presenting the very best of new Irish Music to our international, Irish speakers and delegates. We’re also thrilled to have Tracy and 2FM broadcast live during the event which helps shine a light on all of the showcasing acts over two nights at Music Cork.”

Alan Swan, Director of music for RTÉ 2FM said: “We are very pleased to be involved in Music Cork 2019. It’s exactly these kind of opportunities we want to give the 2FM Rising artists, for them to have the chance to play in front of this calibre of industry professionals and ultimately make concrete steps to reach a wider audience for their music.”

Tickets for the show are free and will be available from Cyprus Avenue, The Old Oak and the venue website, more details to follow.
