Nova Discovered returns for second year to Radio Nova

Radio Nova has launched Year 2 of its ‘Nova Discovered’ initiative, an annual on-air drive to find, nurture and promote new, unsigned, Irish talent.

The station plans to build on the success of its first event last year, which saw more than 500 entries from musicians, song-writers
and artists throughout Ireland.

Nova has again teamed up with MINI and IMRO to run it, with the winning act this year picking up a prize package worth €30,000. The prize includes new music equipment, studio time in Orphan Studios with producer Gavin Glass, mentoring from IMRO and a slot at a coveted IMRO showcase event.

The winning act will also receive radio airplay including live, on-air sessions, a spot on the Radio Nova playlist and an advertising and promotional package on Radio Nova.

In addition, Nova has secured a slot for the winning act to support Aslan in the Iveagh Gardens on Saturday July 14th .

The judging panel is made up of professionals from the music business and include producer Gavin Glass, Peter Devlin from The
Devlins, Kieran McGuinness, vocalist and songwriter with Dublin band Delerentos, Shauna Dineen Marketing Executive from IMRO and Austin Behan general manager of Mini Ireland.

The winner will be chosen by the judging panel through a succession of heats, with the grand final taking place on Thursday 20th June at Tramline, Hawkins St.

“Nova Discovered is a national talent search for new, unsigned talent. There is an enormous amount of talent out there and we aim to showcase and promote this via Nova Discovered and Radio Nova,” says Nova’s Kevin Branigan.

“We’re delighted, once again, to have the support of Mini, who have been completely behind Nova Discovered since we started last year and IMRO, who have really got behind the event to date”.
