Dave Kelly promoted to group programme director at Bay

Dave Kelly has been promoted to the newly created role of Group Programme Director at Bay Broadcasting, taking responsibility for programming across the group’s radio portfolio.

Dave will oversee programming for Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio, Radio Nova and Galway Bay FM. He has been part of Bay Broadcasting since 2021, working mainly with Radio Nova and Classic Hits Radio.

Before joining Bay, Dave spent almost 20 years as Programme Director at FM104 and Q102, shaping output across both stations over nearly two decades.

Bay Broadcasting chief executive Kevin Branigan said Dave brings “a strong, consistent and listener-focused approach to programming that delivers results,” adding that the group was pleased to appoint him to the new role.

Since Dave joined Bay, Radio Nova has become the number one music radio station in Dublin, while Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio has grown to become the largest commercial radio service in the country outside the two national stations.

Commenting on his promotion, Dave said he was looking forward to working even more closely with teams across the group, including the staff at Galway Bay FM in Galway City. He said he was proud of what had been achieved so far, particularly the ratings growth at Radio Nova and Classic Hits Radio over the past four years.

Bay Broadcasting operates Radio Nova, Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio, Galway Bay FM and Sunshine 106.8, with around 90 staff based in Dublin and Galway.
