Classic Hits 4FM’s €21,000 Down Syndrome challenge

Multi-city station Classic Hits 4FM has been given a challenge by the Down Syndrome Centre to raise €21,000 in just 5 days for the charity.

With the centre up and running since last October and numbers increasing through the doors weekly, they are in a situation already where they need to provide more space and introduce  more programmes.

The station, which broadcasts to Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and County Clare, will be starting it’s fundraising for the challenge at 7am on Monday morning, April 20th.

Programme Director with Classic Hits 4FM Andy Matthews told RadioToday: “A challenge like this could not have come at a better time and we hope all of our listeners will all be able to support it in some small way. The idea being that our presenters will spend a week in the life of the centre, meeting and talking to parents, kids, therapists and staff with an ultimate mission to raise €21,000 for the centre”

Deputy Programme Director Robbie Fogarty added: “Our listeners are always  very generous and they always do us proud when we launch a radio appeal like this. It’s a tall order but we know they can help us raise €21,000 in just 5 days for the Down Syndrome Centre. These kids really need their help to keep the doors open at this wonderful facility”

Listeners can make a €4 donation by texting MISSION to 50300 in conjunction with LikeCharity.
