Charity radiothon underway at Cork’s 96FM

The annual Cork’s 96FM Giving for Living Radiothon for 2013 has commenced from the Mercy University Hospital, continuing till the end of Saturday.

corkradiothonThe station is raising money for cancer services in Cork with partners Mercy Hospital Foundation, Cork University Hospital Charity and Marymount Hospice.

This is the station’s 6th event and the cumulative total raised over the last five years stands at €1.8million.

All daytime programmes are being broadcast from the hospital with live hourly inserts from Marymount Hospice and Cork University Hospital.

Chief Executive of Cork’s 96FM & C103 Kieran McGeary told RadioToday this morning: “I’m incredibly proud of our team who yet again have given 100% to this event. A lot of hard work has been put in over recent months and that will continue for the next three days.

“But seeing the amazing generosity of the people of Cork makes it all so worthwhile.”
