Free radio skills course starts recruiting

The FAS Training Centre in Tralee, County Kerry are now recruiting for their City and Guilds Diploma in Radio Production.

Trainees are trained in a live radio station environment for 36 weeks followed by six week industry placement. The focus is on developing the right mix of knowledge, skills and attitude needed for trainees to begin a career in radio.

Trainees will gain practical skills in news, sport, music and commercial production.

Former trainees have gone on to work with BBC, RTE and the Independent Local Radio sector. In recent years, the course has won three PPI National Radio Awards for radio productions produced and aired while on the training course. Graduates of the course have gone on to win numerous national and international radio awards.

Interviews begin on August 9th and course places are limited to 18.
