FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock picked up three awards at last Friday’s PPI Radio Awards and co-host Jim-Jim Nugent is delighted with them.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, he said: “We’re delighted to have won three PPI Awards all in the one night, bringing the show’s tally to four major awards in three years.”
Nugent continued, “To be named Best Breakfast Show in Ireland for the second time in quick succession really gives the Strawberry team a vote of confidence and encourages us to keep doing what we’re doing.
“Comedy is an integral part of the show, so to be awarded ‘Best Entertainment Inserts’ was particularly pleasing to the team. Personally, to win ‘Music Broadcaster of the Year’ was the cherry on the top and my eleventh overall award with FM104. It was a brilliant night.”
FM104’s Programme Director, Dave Kelly, echoed the sentiments, telling RadioToday: “It was another fantastic night for FM104 at the PPI Radio Awards, winning four awards overall. At FM104, we’re constantly striving to create interesting, compelling and entertaining radio. To get four massive votes of confidence in such a competitive market place is very pleasing and I’d like to congratulate the staff members who work tirelessly to keep FM104 the number one music station in Dublin.”
The breakfast show was awarded ‘Best Breakfast Programme’, ‘Best Entertainment Inserts’ and the gold for ‘Music Broadcaster of the Year’ went to Jim-Jim.
